The Louis Poulsen Toldbod 120, Toldbod 170 and Toldbod 250 pendant lamps have a subtle design that doesn't clutter up the room in which they hang. The pendant lamp radiates soft light downwards, and the white sprayed interior optimises the downward light distribution. The elliptical shape of the aluminium lampshade also helps to ensure that you never look directly into the light source. The luxury of this pendant lamp even extends to the power cable used to power the light source, as this cable is covered in textile.

THE STORY BEHIND...
The Toldbod luminaires are designed based on the PH elliptical reflector. This was Poul Henningsen's last attempt at street lighting design before his death. In his time, this luminaire did not get much further than a test for the municipalities in an urban area north of Copenhagen. The original elliptical reflector was designed for a 100 W incandescent lamp. Since Poul Henningsen's first attempt, the luminaires have changed enormously; the materials and surface treatments have undergone radical development. The design is very modest and therefore easy to fit into any architectural environment.
